Age 36. Speaks Jel and Common.
Before the war, she lived in a tribe of Argonians in Black Marsh. The tribe was scattered to th winds when Hess was 9, when the Vigilants of Stendarr attacked their village. Her family was slaughtered, and she and her young kin were put in orphanages around Tamriel. Hess wound up in Cyrodiil, in an orphanage in Bravil. Shortly after, war broke out.
At age 15, after the war had finally reached Bravil, the city was evacuated. Hess took the opportunity to raid the orphanage for supplies and slip away undetected. For a few months after, she roved about the province, picking pockets and thieving small trinkets.
At age 16, she made the mistake of thieving from a well-dressed Nord, who happened to be the leader of a band of brigands. Rather than fight her, the Nord recruited Hess into his ranks. They claimed to be a family of rogues, but in the midst of a heist, the guards caught Hess, and the brigands abandoned her to rot in jail.
2 years later, the war had ended, and Hess was finally released from jail. She was released at age 18, after which she fled to Valenwood and established a private home for herself in seclusion, where she has lived ever since.
